Pop Up Exhibition – Forest Arts Center – 11th to 18th April 2017
Nature’s elements will wash through the theatre at Forest Arts Center for Easter Week week. A preview of work-in progress on a multi-screen surround sound project recorded in Iceland will take the audience into an immersive world of cascading waterfalls, boiling mud and drifting ice. The soundscape incorporates contributions from Chris Watson – BBC Wildlife Sound Recordist, Ben Minto – Sound Designer at EA Dice and Bethan Kellough – Sound Artist
The talk on Tuesday 11th will introduce the development of Resoundscapes and how the resonant sounds of our planet can be used in immersive audio-visual experiences. The work explores acoustic ecology and the audience will be guided into experiencing the “musicality” of the sounds and tones of the natural world.
